I love the fact that it’s fucking hard. The best man always wins.
Knob and I aren’t so close anymore. Oh, we’re still acquainted, but not intimate as before. Thus, this.
Only 39 miles last week. Seventeen miles up and down Mt. Bonnell the previous Saturday, after two hard 70 mile weeks, left my hamstring and knee tender as a teenager’s heart. Tried 800s on Thursday and had to [...]
Somebody asked. I answered. “Life is good, family is great, I run a lot, my job is terrible. That’s about it in a nutshell.”
4×1200, solo during lunch, at a park near my house today. Disappointing, averaged 4:04, spent too much effort.

[...] Thursday afternoon the family made it out to Enchanted Rock. Did Jessica mention it or post any pictures? Never mind. It was a happy time, but my shinankle tendons got pretty sore on the ol’ rock. But after last year’s debacle I was terrified of this race. In fact, I was more stressed out about this race than I was about the marathon in December. For a month I just kept thinking how painful it was going to be. But one good thing about all that dread is that it drives me to work hard. Fear of failure and pain is a major motivator for me. [...]
